Todd Begg Knives War Junkie Citadel – Titanium/Carbon Fiber/S35VN

The War Junkie Citadel is an impressive offering from Todd Begg Knives best described as a useable showpiece. The polished blade and satin frame, both inlaid with carbon fiber, make it almost too beautiful to use but that shouldn’t be the case. It’s outfitted with a CPM-S35VN stainless steel blade and full 6Al4V titanium liners/backspacer so the bones of the knife are extremely solid. The thick, chunky feeling in the hand might a drawback for some but to us, it reinforces the feeling that this knife can handle the tough tasks and we know those with larger hands will also appreciate this. As usual, the pocket clip is a ceramic ball style reminiscent of all Todd’s designs, and the detent ball and bearings are also ceramic for extended life. This is a beautiful, tactical piece fit for a mantle yet designed to be used and abused like an issue knife…now get out there and do it.

Todd Beggs’ love for knives resulted in his first successful attempt at creating one in 1983, when he was in junior high school. When Todd was 20, he joined the military as an NBC Recon team member and found himself using tactical knives in the field on a daily basis, inspiring him to want to create knives that were functional, unique and aesthetically pleasing. He consumed everything he could about the construction, metals and materials and design of knives and credits Bob Loveless’s book, How To Make Knives, as the spark that lit the fire. In 1998, Todd completed a Machine Shop Technology Program from San Juan College in Farmington, NM. Todd lives in Dallas, Texas as full-time knifemaker. He also holds the position as a Board Director of the Knifemakers’ Guild (2022 President) along with other seats in various knife organizations.
