This is a Folding Single Hunter W/Swing Guard 1892-1923. Pat. 470.605 . The Press Button Knife Co. was started by George Schrade and sold in 1903 as a Special Division of Walden Knife Co. The Press Button Knife Co. was only branded until 1923 and as a result, This is a highly desirable “Victor” model of George’s design. The “Victor” etching is no longer visible on the blade. This style knife was known as an early Switchblade and also known as “Button in the Bolster” with a folding swing guard. The handle slabs are Brown Jigged Bone and are tight with no cracks.
Knife is 8 1/2″ open and 4 7/8″ closed. Button releases the blade smooth and quick and knife locks open. The Swing Guard needs work to ensure it swings into place. Bolsters are made of German Nickel Silver and liners are Steel.
